The colors, the creativity, the costumes!
Parade season ignites the best ideas and inspirations on our island and brings them to life. What you don’t often see are the countless hours of behind-the-scenes creative work it takes to make the magic.
This month, we’re opening a window into the process and transforming our gallery into an incubator for creative expression. NOLA parade producer Katrina Brees oversees the fun, offering tips, tricks, and design guidance along the way.

The Studios sets aside the Sanger Gallery for the month of October for artists and community members to share space and inspiration for their creative parade concoctions. Orbiting the granddaddy of them all – Fantasy Fest – Key West has almost too many parades to count: junkanoos, Zombie bike rides, tutu runs, walking parades, kinetic parades, and even teeny tiny parades.
Throughout the month, New Orleans-based parade producer Katrina Brees will be on site, sharing ideas, tips and techniques – both informally and in a series of workshops.
Want to join the fun? Send a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a description of who you are and what you’re planning. Participants are encouraged to make their spaces as fabulous as their parade outfits, and you can join as an individual, or a team. Space is limited, and going fast! FREE!
