AGNES OF GOD, Presented by Fringe Theater

A novice nun. A dead newborn child. This gripping drama probes the devastating impact of blind devotion — whether that devotion is applied to fact or faith.  A court-appointed psychiatrist and a mother superior battle for the life of the novice nun, Agnes. Is she gifted in the mysteries of faith or guilty of cold-blooded murder?  A psychological war ensues and the play becomes a collection of contrasts between science and religion and between the temporal and spiritual.

The New York Times called the premise “alluring,” and the New York Daily News said the long-running Broadway hit was an “electrifying drama” whose ” dialogue crackles.”
