THE STUDIOS WOODSHOP

The Studios Woodshop on Stock Island is a shared workspace for artists and artisans working in wood, with access to an array of tools and equipment. Users can rent time in the Woodshop, get assistance with projects, and take workshops to hone your skills while building things! Made possible by the Tom Majors Fund for Wood Artists

QUICK LINKS:

1. GETTING AUTHORIZED

Before using the Woodshop, all users must take a Woodshop Orientation or attend a Workshop to get authorized on basic Woodshop procedures and specific tools. You’ll also be asked to sign the Woodshop Rules and Liability Waiver.

Woodshop Orientations are held every Monday morning at 10am ($10, preregistration required by Friday at 2pm). CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Woodshop Orientations can also be held individually by appointment ($75, email woodshop@tskw.org to schedule).

2. RESERVING SHOP TIME

Reserving time at the Woodshop to work on your personal projects must be done in advance. Shop times are generally available 9am-7pm (Sundays ’til 3pm), but are subject to the availability of our Woodshop Monitors, and may fill up. Here’s how it works:

  • Fill out a simple form indicating your preferred times and shop needs.
  • We’ll get back to you asap to book a time when the Shop is available (but please allow up to 24 hours)
  • We’ll then send you a link for payment to confirm your booking.

3. TAKE A WORKSHOP

For introduction to woodworking, there are several beginner classes perfect for getting a little sawdust on your clothes. These workshops also count as your Woodshop Orientation.
