Students learn to use metallic paints on black canvas in order to depict familiar local scenes, as they appear transformed by moonlight. The paintings may also contain touches of blacklight colors, which glow when exposed to that type of lighting.

Priscilla Coote is a lifelong fine art painter who is driven to search for the real. She works with a variety of medium, from oil to watercolor to gouache and her subjects sultry tropics to wild Maine coastline, a house, a tree, a rock—as long as it speaks with its own voice.
