ARTS & EATS is a series of delicious fundraiser parties for The Studios of Key West. Each year, we present a new series of delectable parties combining food, art, and interesting locations in Key West —all supporting your creative community.

Glow Hours on Hugh’s View

Our Hugh’s View roof terrace offers the best views in town, and an ideal spot to catch the sunset and a drink with friends. The bar is open, admission is free, and everyone looks great in the golden twilight.

Swimming in the Dark

Music by Martin Hennessy. Libretto by Stephen Kitsakos. Swimming in the Dark is an opera about choice and political freedom. Set in Poland in 1980, it is an opera about a consuming love affair engulfed by a political thriller in a country being torn apart.

Dar He by Mike Wiley

In 1955, a 14-year-old Black Chicago youth traveled to Mississippi with family and Southern cooking on his mind. He stepped off the train into a world of thick color lines, hard-held class systems and unspeakable taboos. Dar He chronicles the murder, trial and unbelievable confession of the men accused of Emmett Till’s lynching.

A Game Apart provides a glimpse of Jackie Robinson’s life during a bygone era when a star player was showered with adulation on the field and became a second-hand citizen when he walked off the diamond. Cultural Reporting and Cuisine with Lisa Morehouse & Nan Klingener

Lisa Morehouse’s podcast, California Foodways, explores the tangential relationships that are involved in the movement of food – immigration, incarceration, food security, and race relations, as well as lighter fare like surprising agricultural jobs and hidden restaurant gems. Nan Klingenger joins Morehouse on stage for a conversation on the crucial role of culture reporting.
