The Studios presents a wide range of live performances in our 200-seat Helmerich Theater, from intimate concerts and storytelling events to full-scale theater and dance productions. We welcome proposals across genres—including music, dance, theater, spoken word, and more.

PROPOSE A PERFORMANCE

Each year, The Studios offers a wide variety of performances in our 200-seat flexible black box Helmerich Theater, which serves as the perfect space for theater productions, intimate concerts, seminars, and much more. It is also possible to propose performance events to take place on Hugh’s View, our rooftop terrace, for smaller audiences.

Please note: decisions regarding which theater productions to present at The Studios flow from the organization’s Purpose, Strategies, and Values, which emphasize directing resources to artists to create innovative work that strengthens our community. To that end, theater presentations at The Studios must be either new works or reinterpretations of existing works. Successful proposals will also create a dialog on contemporary themes.

Interesting proposals may also incorporate the following elements:
1.) Out-of-town artists working alongside local artists
2.) Collaboration with other organizations
3.) A specific aim to engage new audiences

To that end, our strong preference is given to proposals for new works or reinterpretations of existing works.
