South Carolina, 1999. A mother tamps down her fury at the president while her daughter vies to win a speech contest. Over the course of a morning, trapped by a flood, Wilma and Tally contend with mass media, each other, and the most brutal stages of life, as radioactive secrets are pushed into the light.
