In a small Midwestern university town a text message is sent that sets off a chain reaction altering the course of the lives of many who live in Smithtown. The play asks the question: how does technology, and the need for immediate, personal gratification on social media, undermine common sense, rationality and the rules of behavior in contemporary America?
A collaboration between Artists in Residence playwright Drew Larimore, filmmaker Harry Aspinwall, & Stephen Kitsakos, Studios Artistic Associate & Board President, the digital play features an ensemble of of performers including Michael Urie (Broadway’s Torch Song Trilogy, TV’s Ugly Betty), Ann Harada (Broadway’s Avenue Q, TV’s Smash), Colby Lewis (Chicago’s Hamilton, TV’s Chicago Med) and Constance Shulman (TV’s Orange is the New Black and Broadway’s The Rose Tattoo).

MICHAEL URIE last appeared on Broadway in Bess Wohl’s Grand Horizons at 2nd Stage and produced Drew Droege’s Happy Birthday Doug at Soho Playhouse. NYC Theater: Tony Kushner’s A Bright Room Called Day, Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song, Buyer & Cellar, How to Succeed, and more. As director, Michael helmed Bright Colors and Bold Patterns on stage, He’s Way More Famous Than You and The Hyperglot on film. TV: Modern Family, The Good Fight, Younger, The Good Wife, Hot in Cleveland, Partners, Workaholics, Almost Family and Ugly Betty. Training: Juilliard.
ANN HARADA is best known for Avenue Q (Christmas Eve) on Broadway and in London’s West End. Other Broadway roles include Cinderella (Charlotte), Les Miserables (Mme. Thenardier), 9 to 5, Seussical and M. Butterfly. Off-Broadway she has appeared in Emojiland, Pacific Overtures, Brooklynite and Dropping Gumballs on Luke Wilson. Television roles include Smash, Bluebloods, House of Cards, Master of None and The Jim Gaffigan Show. Film roles include Sisters, Hope Springs and Admission. Hailing from Charlotte, NC, COLBY LEWIS moonlighted as an athletic performer on the CW’s hit show One Tree Hill while studying for his B.A. in Communication Studies. In Wilmington he appeared as Four-Eyed Moe in Five Guys Named Moe and Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime. He earned an MFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut before moving to NYC. Colby was cast in the original Chicago production of Hamilton as a standby advancing to star as Lafayette/Jefferson and balancing that with a recurring guest star role as medical student Terry McNeal on the fourth season of NBC’s Chicago Med.
Actress CONSTANCE SHULMAN is instantly recognizable as Yoga Jones in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black. She is well-known as the voice of Patti Mayonnaise for the Nickelodeon animated TV series Doug and for playing Shelly Ray in the TV comedy The Faculty. Shulman’s stage appearances include starring in the original production of Steel Magnolias where she created the role of Annelle. In 2019 she performed on Broadway in the revival of The Rose Tattoo starring Marisa Tomei. She also appeared in the first Studios of Key West livestream play, The Truth About Pipecleaner People by Drew Larimore, directed by Stephen Kitsakos.
