Nicholas Boggs will read from his work-in-progress, a new literary biography of James Baldwin, forthcoming from Farrar, Straus, and Giroux in the States, Bloomsbury UK, and Edition Seuil in France. He will also discuss the process of bringing Baldwin’s forgotten 1976 children’s book, Little Man, Little Man: A Story of Childhood, back into print in a 2018 edition he co-edited for Duke University Press, which Entertainment Weekly hailed as “brilliant, essential,” and the New York Times wrote “couldn’t be more timely.”
Nicholas Boggs is currently at work on a literary biography of James Baldwin. He is co-editor of Baldwin’s collaboration with French painter Yoran Cazac, Little Man, Little Man: A Story of Childhood (Duke 2018). The recipient of fellowships from Yaddo and MacDowell and a 2019 Robert and Ina Caro Travel and Research Fellowship from Biographer’s International, he will spend Spring 2020 as Writer-in-Residence at the James Merrill House in Stonington, Connecticut. He teaches in the Department of English at New York University.
