First Day of Rehearsal – Read Through

Thu May 18, 8pm

Grab a cup of coffee and settle in as the cast assembles and gets to work. It’s our chance to meet the playwright, director and actors as they read-through the new play for the first time as a group. Hear the words leap off the page, watch actors make early character choices and get a sense of the flow of the script. The first read through gives the creative team a chance to hear how a piece sounds in its most basic form: without blocking or design elements.

Open Rehearsal followed by wine & cheese with the cast

Tue May 23, 4pm

Over the past few days, the playwright, director and actors have been honing the play: tightening the dialogue, highlighting the strengths of the script, and making important adjustments. If all goes well, the play is beginning to take wing. It’s time to see how the play has changed over several days of intensive rehearsal. Afterwards, enjoy wine and cheese with the cast, ask questions, and get personal insights into the process.

Staged Reading

Sat May 27, 8pm

Watch the actors as they explore the newly blocked three-dimensional world of the play. Adding movement leads to an intriguing new level of character development, as actors explore their physical space, and continue to deepen their relationships to one another, and to the work. Afterwards, enjoy sweets and a glass of wine with the cast and crew.
