About the Event

Key West actors let you peek inside the diary of the island with stories of renegades, rebels and regular joes. Hear the (sometimes sordid) tales that give our community its unique flavor. Stories have been contributed by locals and visitors, from the past both near and far, and are read by local actors.

Toby Armour

Drawing from local history and a career in dramatic productions, playwright Toby Armour has become known for crafting plays that tell the story of the town in which they are staged. In her career as a playwright, Armour has written about Susan B. Anthony, freed slaves, and railroads with partners including town historians, aspiring writers, and prisoners. She has facilitated the Fringe Theater’s annual Playwrights in Paradise workshop for the last several years.
