EAT A PEACH

SANDRA WILLIAMS

OPENING: FIRST THURSDAY MAR 2, 6-8PM

XOJ Gallery

sponsored by Soul House

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

Throughout the pandemic, Williams thought critically about all the expressions of love–romantic, familial, spiritual, platonic, self-love. The papercuts she created in this time depict love as a constant and defining element of the human experience.

“When most people think of the word love, they instinctively imagine the romance of fairytales; passionate, glamorous and uncomplicated. In actuality, we know the truth to be very different. The types of love we feel are as different as the people that experience it. It is obvious that love informs our decisions and can strengthen our understanding of our communities.”
