The event includes:

  • A screening of Mile Zeros episode 1 (Claw & Order), which takes place during the chaotic lobster mini season
  • Hilarious outtakes from behind the scenes during filming
  • A sneak peek of episode 2 (Square Groupers) with never before seen clips
  • A Q&A session with the cast and crew about the filmmaking process and what’s in store for the series

Episode 1 was made possible thanks to the Women in Film Florida’s Post Production Grant. Thank you for making this program available to filmmakers!

We are forever grateful to The Key West Theater, the Florida Keys Community College, Colocada Vacation Rentals, Sunset Marina, Dennis Card (Kava Key), and The Studios of Key West for offering their locations for filming so we could bring this film series to life!

Mile Zeros: Un-Anchored is a new comedy film series created entirely by independent Florida Keys filmmakers! Inspired by the comedic spirit of Reno 911 and Super Troopers, the series follows eccentric FWC marine patrol officers (played by Chad Newman and Samantha Jindra) as they make life difficult for unsuspecting honeymooners vacationing in the Keys (Luke Wright and Darby Sheehan). The series is written and produced by Amber Nolan and captures the humor of the Florida Keys’ waterworld.

Created by locals, for locals, Mile Zeros: Un-Anchored features soundtracks from Key West musicians Curtis Jr. and Mike Stack. It also guest stars comedian Drew Dunn (as seen on “The Tonight Show”) and YouTube sensation, Patty Mayo. Episode one was nominated for “Best Florida Short,” by the Key West Film Festival, and was accepted into the Sunscreen Film Festival (St. Petersburg, FL).
