Continuing to present lesser unknown works by the great American playwright, Key West Art & Historical Society presents the rarely performed comedy Lifeboat Drill and steamy threesome Kingdom of Earth – two intriguing plays with characters trapped, both physically and metaphorically, by rising waters. With Alaina Albertson, Michael Catlege, Kitty Clements, Arthur Crocker and Jeffrey Johnson.

ALAINA ALBERTSON (top left) is an actor and director based in New York City. She worked alongside Broadway producers and casting directors, and co-produced The Tennessee Williams Project where she acted and directed in over twenty of his plays, including the role of Catherine in Suddenly Last Summer, directed by Stephen Kitsakos as well as appeared last season in Key West in Green Eyes by Tennessee Williams. In New York Alaina’s alter-ego “Hurricane Alaina” produces, writes, directs and performs in I Confess a pop-up site-specific theatrical project based on Williams play Confessional. Alaina is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a BA in Theatre Arts. New York has allowed Alaina to find herself as an artist, but more importantly has become a home for her and her daughter who inspires everything she does.
MICHAEL CATLEGE (top right) is no newcomer to the theatre and has been seen on stage as Happy in Death of a Salesman and Tommy Djilas in The Music Man. He appeared in Key West last season in Green Eyes and The Traveling Companion directed by Stephen Kitsakos. He studied in New York City with Wynn Handman, and received his undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Last June Michael starred as Detective Bowling in the Investigation Discovery Channel’s I Am Homicide. Michael spent eight years as a Naval Officer with multiple oversees deployments, before “altering course” to pursue another one of his passions: Michael as artist and actor.
JEFF JOHNSON (middle left) may be recognized from his exciting opening night speeches at The Waterfront Playhouse. He is thrilled to finally be able to stay onstage after the curtain goes up. He made his Key West debut last season in the role of Vieux in The Traveling Companion by Tennessee Williams directed by Stephen Kitsakos. Although acting in and directing theater was always his first love, Jeff made his career in advertising, helping to create some of the world’s most successful campaigns (including Volvo, Ford, Corona, Nikon and Publix). In addition to being President of The Waterfront Playhouse, Jeff currently serves as the President of the Board of the Williamstown Theatre Festival as well as the Florida Keys SPCA.
KITTY CLEMENTS (middle right) is a 32-year resident of Key West and performed with the Fringe Theater for over four years, including roles in Marion, Alice’s Parlor, Private Lives and Blithe Spirit. She has also appeared as Mother Miriam Ruth in Agnes of God and as Aunt Helen Beck in Eric Weinberger’s Here’s Your Hat, What’s Your Hurry? both directed by Stephen Kitsakos. In ancient times, she won a theatre key from the Rhode Island School of Design and had a radio show for children in Rome.
ARTHUR CROCKER (bottom left) was born in Ohio, and raised on a dairy farm. He studied theatre at Heidelberg University before moving to Key West where he was cast in his first professional production of The Cripple of Inishmaan at The Red Barn Theater. Other local appearances include 1776, Inspecting Carol and Peter and the Starcatchers at The Waterfront Playhouse and The Glass Menagerie and Conch Republic… Revisited for The Fringe. He was also seen last season in Life Story: Two One-Act Plays by Tennessee Williams.
STEPHEN KITSAKOS, DIRECTOR (bottom right) is a stage director and author of three opera librettos with the American composer Sheila Silver, including the adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns receiving its world premiere with the Seattle Opera in their 2020-2021 season. A member of the Theatre Arts Faculty for 15 years at SUNY New Paltz in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, he has been a dramaturge and director of many new plays. In Key West he directed Agnes of God for the Fringe Theater, Here’s Your Hat, What’s Your Hurry? by Eric H. Weinberger and Life Story: Two One-Act Plays by Tennessee Williams, and appeared in Love Letters and Darius with Rosi Ware, both directed by Murphy Davis as well as The Jewish Wife by Bertolt Brecht and Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde at The Waterfront Playhouse. He currently serves as the Board President of The Studios of Key West.
