Aaron Sagers is a New York City-based journalist, author, and TV host known for expertise in the areas of folklore and paranormal entertainment, aka Paranormal Pop Culture. His expertise is the exploration of the intersection between entertainment and belief in the supernatural has taken him across the globe, and he currently appears on Travel Channel’s Paranormal Caught on Camera. Sagers has spoken on the topics on NPR, The Today Show, BBC, was profiled in The Hollywood Reporter, and featured in The New York Times. His writing has appeared in The Lonely Planet, MSNBC, CNN, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Philadelphia Inquirer, Miami Herald, Huffington Post and more. He is author of The Paranormal Pop Culture Collection, and contributing author to Doctor Who Psychology and The Joker Psychology, and has taught journalism at New York University. Additionally, Sagers was Host and Co-Executive Producer on Travel Channel’s Paranormal Paparazzi, and host of Discovery’s Paranormal Lockdown: Evidence Revealed. Sagers ghost hunted with Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul on TruTV’s Super Into; explored The Winchester Mystery House on Syfy; uncovered The Shocking Truth of The Conjuring House on Reelz Channel; traveled across Romania with Bram Stoker’s direct descendant on the hunt for vampire lore; spoken about life on Mars with National Geographic; and spoken to alleged abductees and experiencers in Roswell, New Mexico.

Produced widely in both The United States and Australia, Drew made his Off-Broadway premiere of his new play OUT OF ICELAND in the spring of 2012 starring Lea Delaria at Walker Space. He has been a semi-finalist at the O’Neill Theatre Conference, The Lark Playwrights’ Week, the Heidman Award, the P73 Playwriting Fellowship and a writing residency at Hawthornden Castle in Scotland. His short play, THE ANNIVERSARY, after receiving a world premiere in Australia and a U.S. premiere in New York, is published in Vintage Anthology’s recent SHORTER, FASTER, FUNNIER. In 2015 his new play, THE CANNIBALS OF MCGOWER COUNTY was featured in Asolo Repertory’s Unplugged Festival of New Work as well an O’Neill Finalist in 2016. Most recently, Drew was a writer-in-residence at the Studios of Key West, the Key West Literary Seminar and the Djerassi Artist Residency Program in California.
His musical THE NEW PEGGY was featured at The Green Room 42 in a concert starring Ann Harada. The show went onto premiere on The Micro Musical Theatre Podcast in August of 2018 and is available by download on iTunes. His six-part original scripted series, JANICE GUNTER GHOST HUNTER, is available for streaming on Whohaha.
A former member of Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA’s Playwrights Coalition, he is based out of New York, where he is developing new plays, musicals and original and adapted work for the screen.
