Works and Words concentrates on concepts pertaining to why we work, how we work and the results we aim for as artists. Creative and engaging discussion is generated by assignments, critique and slide lectures. Work will be done in each individual’s studio or home and brought to class each week along with notebooks.
Meet Your Instructor
Roberta Marks is a noted Key West artist who works in sculpture, mixed-media, painting, and collage. She has shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad, including the Smithsonian Institution and Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She has lectured in University settings here and in Europe, and is represented in Key West by the Lucky Street Gallery.
Assignments will include painting, collage, mixed media.
Supplies will be needed for each medium. Found objects will be utilized for collage/mixed media.
Each student is required to have a journal to express their thoughts.
