Workshop at The Studios: Dust to Dust, Dust to Painting with Vincent Pomilio
Vincent Pomilio lives and works in New York City and in Hudson, NY.
He studied art at Kutztown State University, Tyler School of Art and at New York University. His work can be found in many private and public collections in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He is represented by numerous galleries including Carrie Haddad Gallery, Hudson, NY, Hal Bromm Gallery in New York City, and Elizabeth Erdriech White Fine Art in Boston, MA.
Vincent’s work has evolved over the years into abstraction with a firm foothold in the natural world. He is currently working on a series of pigmented plaster based paintings with marble dust and wax on wooden panels. It is his take on the ancient art of fresco painting. In his ongoing BIG LITTLE series, this technique is fully evident. He hopes to expand this series and create some mixed media works on paper during his residency at The Studios Of Key West.
With one of the tallest buildings – and most spectacular views – in town, the Hugh’s View rooftop terrace serves as The Studios’ creative space in the sky. The terrace sits four stories above street level and offers panoramic views of the island. The Kitwald Stage glows in the golden twilight of our sunset performances.
With original seating from its days as a Masonic temple, the Helmerich Theater has been updated to also include floor seating. As a black box theater, the set up is intimate but professional, and sets the stage for concerts and performances that leave guests feeling like they really got to know the performer.
