THEATER AND FACILITIES MANAGER NEEDED

The Theater & Facilities Manager is a full-time technical position. The Theater & Facilities Manager is responsible for designing and operating the lighting and sound for most theater, concerts and other events at The Studios, and for maintaining equipment in the theater and around our campus.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and operating the lighting, sound and technical equipment in the Helmerich Theater and Hugh’s View roof terrace at The Studios; 
  • Designing and running – or assisting with the design and running of – basic lighting, sound & projection for most theater productions, concerts, venue rentals and other events
  • Setup and breakdown of staging, chairs and other theater furniture, with assistance as needed
  • Advising Producers, Production Designers, Directors and other Presenters on technical needs
  • Assisting with basic repairs and maintenance of The Studios’ facilities and equipment
  • Assisting with setup and implementation of other Studios programs as needed
  • Serving as the Health & Safety Officer

The Theater & Facilities Manager is a full-time position, reporting to both the Artistic Director and Operations Manager, with oversight by the Executive Director if priorities need to be clarified.

Job Qualifications:

A Successful Candidate will:

  • Have a degree in Theater Arts Design and Technology or comparable professional experience
  • Have experience operating a range of theater equipment, including lighting, sound & projection
  • Have basic tools and maintenance skills, including carpentry, electrical and plumbing

Beyond the strict requirements of the job, they will be excited to work in a busy, everchanging environment, as part of a staff that isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and back each other up as needed. A demonstrated enthusiasm for the arts is a plus, and opportunities abound to support and participate in all aspects of our mission.

Compensation: $55-65k annually, commensurate with experience. Housing may be provided if needed, with salary adjusted accordingly.
