The Studios of Key West is thrilled to announce the appointment of a new Executive Director – Jed Dodds from Baltimore, Maryland.
After an extensive search, TSKW received 75 applications from all across America as well as England and Italy. Rigorous vetting and preliminary interviews whittled the field to a short list of 5 very qualified candidates. After in person interviews with each of the short list, the Search Committee recommended that TSKW make a formal offer to Jed Dodds.
Jed has the unique advantage of 13 years working at a new arts organization which is very similar to TSKW, The Creative Alliance in Baltimore. Jed was the first full time staff member of the fledgling arts group and helped to oversee the organization’s growth from a budget of under $100,000 to over $1.4 million, with 14 full time staff and a newly developed arts center in a former historic theater. The Creative Alliance is widely recognized for presenting a staggering and diverse array of programs – exhibits, performances, screenings, education and residency program.
“We believe that this experience will help Jed lead TSKW to the next level in this next crucially important stage of its life,” said Rosi Ware, TSKW Board Chair.
Jed has a BA from Yale University, received Executive Training from the Stanford School of Business, and possesses a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jed is excited to come to Key West and make the most of all the opportunities that TSKW and Key West have to offer. Jed’s wife, Molly, is a parade and puppetry artist, and professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and no doubt will be embraced by the Key West arts community. They have an 8 year old daughter, Sadie, who will be starting school in Key West when the new term starts in August.
Jed plans to take up his new role of Executive Director of TSKW on 4 September.
