Class Description

Are you at a crossroads in life? Stuck in a creative rut? Ready to make a big move personally or professionally but not sure where to start? After decades of approaching problems in the same way, it’s easy to get lost in your own head, arriving at the same unhelpful conclusions again and again.

This class helps you go beyond the habitual thought patterns that are keeping you trapped, allowing you to develop new insights and skills to move you toward your goals. Through simple meditations and breath work, we’ll begin to explore the concept of “flow”, the state of complete immersion in an activity in which artists, writers and musicians often create their most insightful work. With the right knowledge and training, the flow state can be readily available to anyone, allowing us to live a more intentional and inspired life.

Through readings, videos and lively discussion we’ll explore how modern principles of neuroscience dovetail with the wisdom of great thinkers like Thich Nhat Hanh and Maya Angelou. We’ll discuss philosophical concepts including self-actualization and what it really looks like, and we’ll explore the state of centeredness which is here and now. Over the course of eight weeks, we’ll discuss ways to discover more joy and meaning in every day.
