Maureen Tracy Venti’s video poem, Humor Me was selected as part of the 9th Exclamation Point! Series program at the Fort Point Theater Channel in Boston, MA.
The program consisted of short multimedia works of poetry, music, plays, film and dance inspired by the Four Humors, the ancient theory that human health, personality and behaviors are influenced by the balance or imbalance of four basic bodily substances: blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm. In Maureen’s video, a poem forms the narrative for a series of photographs exploring one year in a life on both a physical and emotional level in the context of each humor’s corresponding season, personality, element (earth, air, fire, water), and color, ending with spring, the beauty of rebirth symbolizing the promise of second chances.
