Class Description

Even still life subjects can be incorporated into the most extraordinary story of your life! German artist Theissen leads students through developing drawings with pencil and ink in her signature sepia graphic novel style.

Meet Your Instructor

German artist Heidi Theissen fell in love with Key West in the 1980s and never fell out. Through the years and hearing many stories from her friends in Bahama Village, Heidi’s love for the community has only grown deeper and stronger. She paints spirits and memories, including her own, back to life, creating artwork that reflects Key West from the mid-1800’s to present. Her works aim to awaken the hearts, minds and spirits of everyone to the beautiful history and culture of Bahama Village she fell in love with in her travels here.
