Read and discuss books and excerpts by writers who understood the island as a vital, living, complicated place. Selections include works by Ernest Hemingway, Elizabeth Bishop and Thomas McGuane. Gain a better understanding of the island, its history and its rich literary heritage. Advance reading is required.
