Using the her atelier academic background, Plowdrey teaches fun and thoughtful ways of looking at, mixing and applying color to mimic various skin tones. All levels welcome. Art will be created from life and photo.
Alaina Plowdrey received her AFA from Delta College (2006), BFA from the College for Creative Studies (2009) and MFA from the New York Academy of Art (2011). After attaining her master’s degree in a rigorous anatomical traditional atelier she taught in NYC and then as an adjunct professor in numerous colleges throughout Michigan. She was granted the opportunity to be an AIR at the Studios of Key West July 2014 and now resides in Key West, FL working as a professional studio artist, gallery director and professor.
She will be having a solo exhibition this coming May at the Studios of Key West made possible by her Anne Mckee grant she received this year. Plowdrey takes a fun and thoughtful approach to teaching so her students leave feeling challenged and pleased at the end of each class.
