Learn cutting, painting on glass, copper foiling and soldering in this fun class instructed by former Artist in Residence (2012) Joseph Cavalieri. Over two days, students will create two 4 x 4 inch square monogramed glass boxes. These can be used for storage or to place a candle inside.
Day one we will learn how to make a cardboard model, how to cut glass to size, and students will choose letters to paint on glass with enamels. You don’t need to design the letters; Joseph will bring in a wild alphabet you can repaint on the glass. You have the option of painting other images. The glass will be kiln fired overnight. Day two will consist of construction of the boxes, and how to patina the metal edges.
All materials are included in this workshop.
