Use the effects of light in your paintings to create atmosphere, interest and three-dimensionality. By unifying your compositions with light, your work will become more than a simple rendering of disconnected objects.

This is a studio class. On the first day, explore how to create convincing light effects, and complete a small example using what you have learned. On day two, paint the same subject under a different light, learning what is possible just by employing a few techniques. Discover new freedom of expression and learn to create these effects at will in all of your work, opening up new possibilities and advancing your skill levels in your painting, lessening your dependence on the literal rendering of photographs.

Priscilla Coote has been mesmerized by the water for her entire life. There are family tales of their near-capsizing during a sudden squall when she was an infant; followed by more tales of living aboard and 39-day motorsailor deliveries down the East Coast.
