Adinkra Symbols Workshop with William Kwamena-Poh
Frederick Douglass Center in Bahama Village
On March 25, TSKW Artist in Residence William Kwamena-Poh works with students at the Frederick Douglass Center in Bahama Village. William discusses his own paintings, many of which depict scenes from his home country of Ghana, before leading the students through the process of recognizing and recreating their own West African Adinkra symbols.
Students show off their newfound circus arts skills on the last day of TSKW’s Circus Arts Camp. For the entire week of spring break, Bounce and Ooh La La worked with kids of all ages teaching juggling, balancing, plate-spinning and numerous other fun tricks. Nearly 30 children participated each day, grinning and giggling while also learning subtle lessons of concentration, teamwork, and the importance of practice and dedication.
