Unsung Hero -THE STUDIOS OF KEY WEST
No one works harder and enjoys life more in ‘retirement’ than Jane Grannis.
Jane’s 30 year teaching career in New Jersey inspired hundreds of students in the arts.
She now calls Key West her home and has become an important part of The Studios of Key West.
For the last 3 seasons, Jane devoted endless hours helping us grow as a community organization by greeting visitors, processing enrollments, planning trips, and setting up and servicing events.
Jane led a team of volunteers preparing for the major exhibition “Rick Worth: Painting in Paradise” a 25 Year Retrospective, as well as the Legacy Exhibition honoring Carolyn Gorton Fuller, “The Bottle Wall Lady” for the enjoyment of the entire community.
Jane’s good nature simply smiles at the mound of material set before her each week at TSKW, and with her wit and humor she helps the staff roll over bumps and manage what would be an impossible work load created from our successful growth.
We thank Jane for being an active TSKW member, artist in her own right, and volunteer.
We are fortunate to have someone like Jane call Key West and The Studios of Key West, her home.
