“My father, Hugh Ware, GOT what Key West was all about— the openness, the strong sense of community spirit, and the love of people.
“When he passed, my wife Rosi and I could think of no greater tribute to my father than to use our inheritance to help give future generations the best view of Key West this town has to offer.”
– Jeff Ware
* The steel beam infrastructure is already in place due to the Ware family gift of $220,000, plus many other donations by friends and family of Hugh Ware. This was done during the renovation.
*Now, The Studios must raise an additional $1 million to complete construction and match grants already in hand.
*Naming opportunities include the elevator lobby, perimeter walkway, green
terrace, stage, sculpture garden, fire stair extension, shade structure, the skylight,
benches, planters, and bar cart.
Hugh Ware, who passed away at age 91, embraced the “One Human Family” spirit that is Key West.
“The rooftop terrace will be open to the public and offer a spectacular gathering place for sunset celebrations, intimate concerts, and quiet moments. Our hope is this amazing view will bring new audiences to The Studios of Key West and open our doors to an ever expanding and diverse group of members who believe in the transformative power of art.”
