Greencard Wedding

Brooklyn 2012, where you can be whatever you want . . . until your visa expires. A bittersweet rockin’ love story of artistic triumph via technology and music.

Just after her band plays a gig at the pub where he works, Joy and Connel meet up on a Brooklyn subway platform and stage an impromptu jam session that ignites a passionate love affair. The affair is cut short when Connel’s visa is cancelled, and the lovers’ bittersweet story of love and separation plays out in a 75-minute show raising awareness about artist visas, immigration and the importance of gathering in pubs.

Based on a true story, Greencard Wedding, hailed as a “deeply original” indie rock musical that is part live rock concert, part international film. Performed by the Irish/ American award winning duo, Jody Christopherson and Ryan McCurdy (Once, Broadway), which Time Out calls “talents to watch, not to mention a pleasure to hear.” Rather in New York or on tour, each performance includes whiskey soaked wedding cake. Performed in English with some Gaelic. 75 min run time.
