Class Description

In this series of workshops, participants will explore their individual physical, emotional and mental experiences of life in a body through use of writing, drawing and movement. Based on the work of field pioneers and founders of Tamalpa Institute, Anna and Daria Halprin, each weekly focus on a different body part will build towards creation of a personal mythology and renewed whole body awareness.

Meet Your Instructor

A multi modal artist working in painting, drawing, jewelry, printmaking, poetry, and dance, New Jersey native Katharine Doughty moved to Key West in 2003. In 2015 she relocated to California to study with mentors Anna and Daria Halprin. Navigating her journey with metastatic breast cancer, Doughty recently returned to the island and is honored to offer her art and experience to inspire and assist others. She practices somatic based expressive arts education and therapy with individuals and groups and continues work on “Find The Ocean” – a found object jewelry project.
