D.Lee Carruthers is a practicing architect and artist in the Philadelphia area. He has worked and consulted with many major architectural firms over the past 30 years as a designer and an architectural illustrator. He has participated in numerous group art shows with Tabula Rasa, a Philadelphia based collection of artists, architects and photographers that concentrate on the city as the conceptual framework for art. Notable shows have been at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pennsylvania, and the University of Toronto. D. Lee Carruthers work is focused on urban/city investigation. Ranging from conceptual sketches in watercolor to diagrammatic drawings and full range Photoshop overlays, he aims to test urban conditions and pose alternate resolutions to existing conditions. The resulting solutions run the gamut from urban analysis to installation art aimed at exploring the social implications of spectacle .
