Dodge the summer heat in the morning and evening while capturing the unique glow of Key West’s most sultry month. Joseph Sweeney shows students how to capture and mix, in oils, the true colors of the island. The clouds, the land, the water, and the changing light of day all speak to the qualities of the island that make it Key West and nowhere else. Capturing this richness for visitors, as well as locals, renews the appreciation of place.
Joseph Sweeney has taught landscape for nearly 20 years at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the oldest art school in the US. He has worked with students in specific landscapes and locations from the Mid-Atlantic to the
the mountains of Montana, the island of Bermuda and along the coasts of Ireland.
