Christine Heller’s early interest in dance has led to a life long focus on the figure; figure as alter ego, guide, symbol, and source of energy at intersections of the personal / political / social. Christine’s current projects are fueled by the vibrancy of contemporary dance, street dance and the Commedia dell’arte.

Christine was awarded a University Fellowship from the Tyler School of Art of Temple University, Philadelphia, PA where she received her MFA. She has taught at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, MD, at the Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, PA, at Hartwick College, and SUNY Oneonta, both in Oneonta, NY and at the Vermont College of Fine Arts, Montpelier, VT.
