$25 per child, ages 7-15
All materials included!
CALL 305-296-0458 to enroll for one or all five!
Fun Saturday classes for children who are ready to be encouraged to let their imaginations run free! When properly challenged and inspired, even the youngest child’s creativity will be sparked, and channeled into structured opportunities to create. Select one or as many sessions as your summer schedule allows — each session covers a different topic and provides a unique opportunity to create. The only rule? Dress for mess!
June 8: Fantastic Monsters with Michele St. Pierre
How exquisite can you be? A collaborative class based on the Exquisite Corpse art project. Children unleash their imaginations onto the page by starting with large piece of paper divided into thirds…they draw the legs, then fold over the page so that no one can see it, and pass it on to the next person to draw the torso, and on to the next person to draw the head, until finally, a colorful, Fantastic Monster bursts from the page!
June 15: Friendship Bracelets & Superhero Cuffs with Michele Atkinson
Make ’em, wear ’em, or trade ’em with a pal! Artist Michele Atkinson leads students through the creation of two collectible snap bracelets that can be shared with friends and family. Stamp, paint and use markers to embellish denim and fabric creations.
June 22: Self Portrait Painting with Maggie Ruley
Colorful, whimsical and adorable. Learning to create a self-portrait is a great way to learn the fundamentals of painting and self-expression. Students will leave with a portrait they’ll treasure forever and a memory that’s even better than a photo!
June 29: Bike Decorating with Pam Hobbs
Back by popular demand! This class bursts with patriotic pizzazz when studio artist Pam Hobbs helps kids decorate their bikes and helmets with fun craft materials like bunting, streamers, and other fun things!
