Art Conservation in the Tropics with Judi Lank

Judi Lank is a master framer who has owned and run frame shops and galleries in Ithaca, NYC and Brooklyn, framing for major museums and galleries as well as the public.

When she moved to Key West after Wilma and saw a lot of damaged artwork, she began to consider the special needs in this kind of environment. With the help of a conservator friend she wrote the guide “Care of Artwork in a Tropical Environment,” which outlines tactics for artists, galleries, and individuals to protect their works. Lank covers paper works, paintings, prints, and works on wood and addresses UV, heat, humidity, mold, mildew, insect damage, hurricane prep and disaster recovery. She also provides tips on best practices for display and storage.

During this brief seminar, Lank will also provide handouts, take questions, and schedule free in-home consultations.
