Performed by hosts, film producer Maxine Makover and her husband, Key West Tasters Guild Director, Jack Paul. Curated and directed by Stephen Kitsakos. A pre-Valentine’s Day romance of food, drink, music and spoken word.

Join Key West Poet Laureate Arlo Haskell for an evening of seafood delicacies and poems that chart the seascape of our island city. Arlo talks and reads about growing up in the fertile soil of the Keys and is joined by a host of friends who’ve done the same. The food is fresh, the backyard is bounteous, the vibe is creative and casual. With art by Key West natives Garth & Katie Holtkamp.

Landscape Architect Patrick Tierney leads small groups through his prize-winning tropical garden, home of a stunning collection of palms, medicinal, and fruit trees composed with a painter’s eye for perspective, color, and texture. Meanwhile, music fills and the air and Tierney’s husband, European-trained chef Viktor Slavov, delights the palette with a stream of sumptuous tropical bites.

Peyton Evans opens her art-filled home to celebrate her expansive collection of paintings by artist and friend Susan Sugar. Peyton bought her first “Sugar” at the Lucky Street Gallery in 1999. The art and their friendship now spans two decades. Come hear stories about when and how the art was created, meet with old friends and make some new ones as you enjoy hearty drinks and a light supper-buffet.

Mehgan Heaney-Grier pioneered the sport of freediving in the US, before going on to do underwater stunts for Pirates of the Caribbean, starring in Discovery’s Treasure Quest, and speaking nationally on ocean stewardship (locals may recognize her from the underwater film at the Eco-Discovery Center). Join Mehgan for a talk and evening cruise on the luxury catamaran Argo Navis, featuring fine wine and sustainable cuisine by Martin Liz.

Falcone, the iconic owner of Fast Buck Freddie’s and Fantasy Fest co-founder, has spent more than 30 years traveling through Southeast Asia – especially Thailand and Indonesia – a journey that has touched his heart and informs his aesthetic. The results fill his classic conch home, where artist Molly Ross leads an interactive shadow puppet demonstration inspired by the setting. Full bar and sumptuous Asian inspired delicacies complete an unforgettable evening.

Wander the gardens, enjoy a sumptuous dinner, and then settle in for stories and remarks by the author of All Soul’s Rising, about the Haitian revolution (National Book Award finalist), and most recently Child of Light, a biography of his friend, longtime Key West resident and major American novelist Robert Stone.
