Taste the flavors of a multitude of regions while gleaning culinary tips. Your palette will be pleased and your mind entertained by Christine’s culinary knowledge and her ability to bring creative flavors to every meal.
Each session focuses on a different region/cuisine. All ingredients are fresh – local when available. A wine tasting is included, and all levels of culinary expertise are welcomed!
Key West Easy Week Night- January 24th
This class will be a full, quick and easy meal. On a hot Key West day, no one wants to use the oven, we will be grilling and sautéing. The appetizer, entrée, side dish and dessert we make today can be served together or on their own. Join us for a tasty meal, a glass of wine and some fun. All recipes will be provided for you to take home. Feel free to come with questions about this or any topic.
A Good Kind of Fishy- February 21st
In this class we will talk about the types of fish, health benefits and warnings, all while sharing techniques of cooking. We will also speak about local and sustainable fish and fishing practices. Several dishes will be prepared before your eyes, in a causal and constructive environment. In addition to sampling all the dishes, this class includes all recipes prepared that day and is accompanied with wine. Please join us!
Vegetarian Cooking- March 13th
In this class we will incorporate whole grains, fruits, vegetables, eggs and dairy to make dishes perfect for lunch or dinner. Vegetarian cooking is practical, affordable and easy with a few simple tricks and recipes we will learn today. We will also talk about the basics of nutrition and how they fit into everyday life. Please join us for vegetarian cooking all will enjoy.
Kick up the Flavor- April 17th
This class will start with a discussion about flavor. We will learn how flavors are tasted and ways to brighten our meals. We will make numerous sauces and dishes for you to enjoy with recipes easy to incorporate into your repertoire. Smokey, salty, bitter, sweet, tangy, and delicious all come together today. Come join us for a glass of wine, fun and food!

More about Chef Christine:
Christine Zapka started her passion for food as a teenager. Following a traditional culinary route, she earned a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
Early in her career, she cooked for esteemed chef Jean George while in New York City. Her passion took a turn while working at farm-to- table restaurant. Fresh, local, healthy and above all “realistic” food is her style.
Christine moved to the Keys about five years ago, becoming the chef at Help Yourself (currently Date & Thyme). She joins us for the first time on December 13th.
