4th Annual Plein Air Painting Competition Results

 

Amazing results from amazing artists- painters fresh to plein air as well as those who have mastered the craft -
The Studios of Key West held the 4th Annual Plein Air Painting Competition during the 5th Birthday Party Bash on Saturday, March 3.

Canvases and watercolor papers were stamped at 9 am and completed works were returned by 2 pm for display and judging.
TSKW Artist in Residence, Anne Ireland, a landscape painter from Falmouth, Maine juried work by 22 artists:

Bree Buckley, Priscilla Coote, Christine Cordone, Joan Cox, Sandy Curtis, Fran Decker, Linda Fife, Vicki Gordon, Pam Hobbs, Kathleen Husted, Joe Jackson, Alice Levy, Marcus Lundell, Chris Moses, Will Nethaway, Barbara Perry, Wanda Simmen, Andy Thurber, Tricia Verhelle, Jane Washburn, Susan Wiley, and Jane Witmer.

The following awards were presented at 6 pm:

1st Place    Blue Ribbon         $150 Cash Prize       Kathleen Husted       Lone Tree
2nd Place    Red Ribbon        $100 Cash Prize       Priscilla Coote           Shadows
3rd Place    Yellow Ribbon    $50 Cash Prize          Sandy Curtis             Boats

In addition, party goers cast votes for their favorite work on display.
The People’s Choice Awards were tallied and the winners are:
