Eve’s Lament
Denise Kumani Gantt / AIR – Playwright, Poet, Performer

Kumani Gantt presents her monologue, Eve’s Lament, which she wrote as a retelling of the Biblical story of Eve being cast from the Garden of Eden. Eve has been recast as an African-American woman, bringing a plea for compassion and global understanding.

Gay Key West Panel Discussion

Curator Dianne Zolotow leads a panel of artists and community members to discuss the historical impact of gay artists in Key West. Panel members respond to themes in the exhibition, and offer their personal take on this critical turning point in our island’s history.

Morse returns to TSKW to present her finished video/animation piece, This Present Moment, which she began working on during her 2013 residency. After presenting her video, Morse will discuss how she creates her animated works.

Nancy 3 Hoffman

Director and Curator Nancy 3 Hoffman’s traveling exhibit,The Umbrella Cover Museum, makes its first stop in Key West. Hoffman relates how she won the Guinness World Record™ for the most umbrella sleeves, reminds us to celebrate the mundane, and plays the museum’s theme song on her accordion.

A panel of experts in the fishing industry will inform audience members about the county’s second largest industry (second only to tourism). Steel, Gregory, and Kelly answer questions regarding practices, sustainability, obstacles faced in the business.
