Watercolor Intensive with Frederic Kellogg

March 08, 2014 - March 10, 2014
Saturday-Sunday, 10am-4pm Monday, 10am-2pm
$385, $360 mbrs

Kellogg, whose work can be found in museum, private and corporate collections, brings an energetic teaching style to TSKW for a 3-day intensive watercolor workshop. Kellogg asks students to come with sketchbooks and portable kits ready to paint from life.  After a brief demo, the first day consists of non-stop time-limited small watercolor sketching.  By the end of the day the watercolorist begins to “see through the medium”–to look at nature as if it were a watercolor painting.  The second day begins with critiques of the work to find and identify personal strengths and improve technique and composition. By the end of the third day using enhanced techniques and coaching the student should have at least one frameable work.  All levels of skill accepted; beginners are referred to David Dewey’s The Watercolor Book for basic and technical data.  Materials list will be provided in advance.
